I have a copy of an old letter sent to my dad from one of his cousins, I think a great-great-great grandson of John Lollar. Part of the letter says John Lollar "settled West of Town Creek and North of the Sparta to Baxter Road in 1800. [This is in White & Putnam Counties, TN.] The Log Cabin he built in 1800 is still standing. He built another Cabin 100 yards East of Town Creek and south of the Sparta to Baxter Road [this is Ditty Road] in 1819 (remains of Rock Chimney). John's son Isaac (b 1809) built a cabin, 1 Mile north and 100 yards west of Town Creek, in 1833." My dad showed me where the first house mentioned was and here are some pictures of it we took in 2004.
